1155- SAM 441 (C-40 # 01-0015 AE115D 89th AS) working ZNY Harrisburg (133.475) & Potomac (125.525) on way in to ADW. Departed from Vienna.
SAM18, seems to be the standard callsign for these B757 flights that precede AF1. Is there any significance to the "18" ?
Hmmm not that I can think of, I know when 09-0015 is flying POTUS mission it is usually SAM 45 (45th President)

1340 local Just heard TABOO 02 on McGuire CP 134.100 inbound from Louisiana..
Looks like a pair of them 86-0028 and 86-0030.
TABOO 01 on McGuire CP 237.150.. Assume was Potus CAP down that way.
1950 local AF-1 inbound West Va area or 92-9000 is first up.
Tracking shows 92-9000 stopped at Eglin and 82-8000 went to La.

I have noticed the B757 using SAM45 on the shorter AF1 missions, when they don't use the other VC-25. On the longer trips it seems they send out the B757 first, always using the SAM18 callsign (from what I've seen), then shadow with the other VC-25 as SAM45.
I get the "45" connection that's why I was wondering if the "18" had any significance as it seems to be standard as well ? Maybe whoever comes up with the flight numbers is a Red Sox fan ?

The KC-46 supported the VFA-151 Hornets back home to Navy Lemoore from Volk Field, where they took part in Northern Lightning 2020.

KAVP will be busy Tuesday late afternoon with Potus visit.. May catch some Chopper types in area beforehand.
Guess also locking down nearby smaller KWBW airport as well.
