BOLT was old Detroit Michigan callsign of the 927ARW that moved to MacDill some years back.. Kept the old Detroit callsign :)
Hard to keep up with KC-135's anymore.. They trade them around like baseball cards even more so with KC-46A's coming omline.

To muddy the 135 waters even more: When the 927th left Selfridge, the planes stayed, and were transferred to the MIANG's 127th Wing. (Along with some people who did not want to change drill locations, including a few in my squadron.)

1415- Axeman flt (4 MD ANG A-10Cs) working Raven Ops (275.7) & on discrete (266.6). Chat about traffic at Dulles so probably returning from Evers MOA.

1435- Tester 01 (F-18 # 165542 NTPS) working w/Bay Watch (270.8) & another acft. Tester 01 callsign is usually reserved for Cmdr NTPS. Possibly Tester 01 is evaluating a NTPS student.

Hungarian fighter salute to Chuck Yeager..
Legendary Hungarian 59/1 'Puma' Squadron pays respect to Chuck Yeager during supersonic intercept practice : aviation (reddit.com)

I think he shot down a ME-262 jet near end of WW2. Said those planes flew rings around us in Mustangs but not
much fuel range so they would wait till jets started there landing appch and then swoop down and attack them.
Smart brave pilots back then.

He was a great American hero and patriot. I once saw his supersonic flight at Edwards AFB, opening the airshow.

It would be a fitting tribute, if the USAF would be flying with some of his personal callsigns the nex few days ....

RIP Brigadier General Yeager.

René.

There has got to be an epic flyover for his burial.

Between Salisbury and PCT SCARY was on ZDC 285.45. Lacking ATC manning sure has mixed things up, like the E-6B being given 119.7 way out west last night.

Yeah also once commanded the 4th TFW on F-4 Phantoms at Seymour Johnson..
I'm sure some SJ F-15's would join that flyover..

He didn't get a warm welcome to his first pilot assignment as a young pilot
in 1943 in England.. Guess a lot of locals didn't like Yanks taking over their towns.

Sixteen months later he was a non-commissioned officer with the 363rd Fighter Squadron based at Leiston, Suffolk – “three concrete runways surrounded by a sea of mud” – flying a North American P-51 Mustang. “The locals in the nearby village of Yoxford,” he recalled, “resented having 7,000 Yanks descend on them, their pubs and their women, and were rude and nasty.”

DC ANG BRAVE flight doing sim intercept training on 377.575

I'd like to see a flyover with as many of the types Yeager has flown that are still flying, ended with a missing man formation.
