1000 local- NIGHTHAWK ## V-22 Osprey flew right over me flying SW. Checked in with KWRI 126.475.
Seems he went over me earlier going NE but couldn't get an eyeball. TIS-B track showed he flew up around CT.

There was a bit of a traffic jam on the AR220 track. BISON 21 & 22 from KIAG were setting up to work with a P8 (Tail 169326 - Did not catch callsign) using the primary 274.45 Freq about the same time STEEL 73 and DECOY 99 were coordinating their work.

Boy,

Haven't seen a milair day like today in a long time. I guess they're all taking advantage of the good flying wx. (y)

ADW is working hard, Martin State is busy, PAX has got 4-5 things going on, DOV is working and good ole W386 hopping today. McGuire & ACY are also busy but I can't hear them--too far away & acft too low.

Reception is good today, I'm hearing things in W105, test discretes from PAX I've never heard before, & even some AAR in AR217/219 up in northern PA.

0810- Brave flt (F-16s 121st FS DC ANG) off ADW (348.475) then working ZDC Patuxent (281.4) requesting FL270 to intercept target south of PAX. Checks in with Bay Watch (305.2) for entry into R-4006 to work with Raider 66 then Bay Watch corrects him to Raider 61. Brave 1 tells Brave 2 to QSY to 126.2 for simulated guard calls. Raider 61 working Bay Watch (270.8) & 305.2)
Rgr Ron checking tape today and heard BRAVE 2 825 local with practice intercept message "This is BRAVE 2 armed air defense fighter if you hear my transmissions rock your wings" "I'm single F-16 passing your left side now"
BRAVE-2 then called NIGHTSTAR and said coms were intermittent unless NIGHTSTAR was RAIDER 61.
Assume NIGHTSTAR was just BRAVE 1 playing along as controller. :)

Couple of A-10's F-16's? GUNNY 1,2 playing around Dover appch 257.875 and A/A 285.225 at around 5k feet.

Mark,

They said they would use 126.2. Did you hear anything there? I didn't. But 126.2 is also used by PAX's Webster Outlying Landing Field (OLF)

Not sure Ron but did have 126.200 open on my rotation this morning.. Popular freq with the Army as well.
Sometimes heard on flights into Pope AFB... I think someone quizzed BRAVE 2 as he said "just using as a practice freq"

GUNNY's depart Dover ..now on 317.425 Pot apch as RAVEN 1 flight.. Guess they use GUNNY callsign while doing
drills and back to RAVEN for regular coms. Back inbound Martin State.

Mark,

Surprised that A-10s would use Gunny, which is long time DC ANG F-16 callsign. Seems too much chance for confusion. There was an unid flt of A-10s leaving the PAX area heading for MTN around the same time. Maybe a criss-cross?

Around same time, I heard flt of two DC ANG F-16s (no call noted) working Potomac (270.025) & ADW tower (349.0) for landing. Also heard F-16s on 285.225 talk about contacting DOV tower on 273.625 & DOV approach.

Just had strange hit: 1630- Baton 74 (EC-130J # 96-8154 AE0248 193rd SOS PA ANG Harrisburg) Baton Ops (251.25). Had trouble contacting on 251.25 so went to 395.1. I had 251.25 in rotation since it's a Langley CP freq. Maybe they are getting rid of 395.1 which is in the LMRS band and going to 251.25?????

Probably forgot to switch back to home ops. Airnav still shows 395.1 for Baton Ops. They came from Hulburt which uses 251.25 for the command post.
