See HC-130H's 1702 and 1704 still flying as CG down Clearwater Fla way today... Seems most of the new CG C-130J's went to Alaska and Hawaii.
Makes sense as they have a lot more territory to cover.. :) Still more J models on the way though but only about 1 tail per year.

Ron I thought 22 total were ordered and will be 2025 before all said and done..
Course it is actually up to the USAF how many they get as they control all new US C-130J deliveries.. Didn't know that.

1356- Topcat 4 (KC-135R # 62-3508 AE05A5 108th ARW NJ ANG) working Torch Control (251.2) w/inbound msg & write-ups. Doing some pattern work at ACY before landing at WRI.

1414- Score 25 (E-2D # 168076 AE2FD6 VX-20) working on test discrete (365.7) w/unid acft.

The E-2D has been testing out of Patuxent River with different aircraft - recently with multiple Texan 2's and another time with a RQ-4 Global Hawk at times on different days. Listen for his AN/APY-9 radar in the 420-440 MHz range when he is up--it is easily heard out about 200 miles at times.

If you mean the radar, which is what I was tuned to, all I can say is it sounds like a radar but different than others. Often it will have a 10 second rotation (when in Advanced Airborne Surveillance mode), a slower (longer time) rotation when in Enhanced Sector Scan, and no rotation when in Enhanced Tracking Sector mode. I just now realized that "nenc" is northeast North Carolina. You are probably more likely to hear ones flying around Norfolk there if they turn the radar on and are not just flying.

A couple new callsign for the database. PROTO 81 (K46A, 17-46030) doing AR with a BAD BUFF (TUFF 11), passed as traffic to a USN C-130 (164598) using what sounded like MOAB(?) 01 as a callsign. Don't see either PROTO or MOAB in the database, and first time I've heard a KC-46 AR with a BUFF. Earlier there was also a IAB K35R using the PROTO callsign, so doesn't seem aircraft specific. Audio clip ZME LiveATC.

Nice recording! Thanks for sharing. New callsign for me as well.

LOL! That's about 140 miles from me! I have all kinds of birds and some turkeys eating my birdseed! Oh, and of coarse those damn squirrels!
Meanwhile I put suet out last week and the birds or squirrels couldn't be bothered with it.
