Strange that there would be two aircraft using the REACH581 callsign so close together in time.

It was around 12 hours from the time RCH 581 (KC-135) landed in KPIT and the time RCH 581 (C-17) departed from KNTU. Doesn't seem that tight ?

LAGER748/749 were out of Mildenhall but noted was also a LAGER747 out of Moron probably related

Yep, on the playback you can see LAGER 747 pull up with RCH 116. 2 ARs they must have really been heavy ? On departure from KNTU you can hear RCH 581 advise they will be exceeding 250 knots (the speed restriction below 10000 feet) due weight. LiveATC Audio

Guys

Posted on another list. Activity by the contract KC-135R

They're back up this morning (Sat) working with some VMFA(AW)-224 F/A-18Ds off of Charleston on 377.400. I can't quite make out their callsign though. Sometimes it sounds like SURFER, other times like SUNBIRD.

Check that callsign, they just moved a bit south and I've got a better signal. I'm pretty sure that it's SLIMBIRD. The pilot and one of the F/A-18 pilots were talking and it sounds like Meta/Cass Professional Services are in the process of getting certified for refueling and it could be finished this week. Before I had a better signal, SLIMBIRD also said something about moving from Myrtle Beach to Jacksonville; I couldn't tell if it was temporary or permanent. SLIMBIRD's pilot is a USAF retired, he said with 38 years of service - said his crew is younger than his own kids. Also mentioned he had to sign an NDA to get the job.
