Very cool -- not a common visitor. Any insight as to passing through or there as storage (Herks have stayed there before for that reason).
Did anyone by chance catch a tail# or see them on software? Thanks in advance says the old 130 guy.
Yeah kind of interested myself in such a rare if true sighting.. ICAO says prefix for tail reg# in
Sudan is ST and prefix for South Sudan is now Z8
Rough times down there with military govt.

Guys,

I have to apologize.

A friend, who normally does his spotting a Georgetown, sent me the " Sudanese " spotting because he saw the SU tail fin and thought SU was Sudan. The second part of the confusion was that since he normally is a Georgetown I assumed that where he spotted it. But in this case he saw the SU at BWI. It was our usual Egyptian AF C-130 departing BWI.

Sorry for all the confusion.

Years ago I was working for a trucking company that was new to international operations. I needed a commercial ticket back to Kentucky from Taipei. I checked with the company travel bureau and the 'girl that does the tickets' said that the ticket was booked to San Franciso on British Airways. Sounded odd but with codeshares certainly plausible at the time.

Yep, I got my limo to the airport and there was no British Airways flight, codeshare or otherwise to SFO. I went through the agonizing drill of making an international phone call from an airport pay phone with a company AT&T phone card. Twelve timezones away I got a crew scheduler who assured me that the ticket was booked, paid for and ready for check-in at the airport.

'Are you sure it's British Airways?'

'Yes the airline code is BR.'

BR is IATA code for EVA Air out of TPE, BA is the code for British Airways. :)

Other lines from crew scheduling in that era:

'What's the Zulu time over there in Japan right now?'

'We can't book your hotel in Vietnam yet because the girl that knows how to do timezones doesn't work Tuesdays.'

Looking back at the NFDD from Monday March 21, there will be changes for the Evers MOA effective May 19. The Evers MOA as currently known will be cancelled, but will be reformed into several pieces.

Being established on May 19 will be…
Evers Center MOA from 11,000 feet MSL to 17,999 feet from 0630 hours to sunset by NOTAM and other times by NOTAM no later than 2230 hours. Ident will be MEVERSC. And…

Evers East MOA from 1,000 feet MSL to 17,999 feet with the same times of use with ident MEVERSL. And…

Evers North MOA from 11,000 feet MSL to 17,999 feet with the same times of use and ident MEVERSN. And…

Evers South MOA from 11,000 feet MSL to 17,999 feet with the same times of use and ident MEVERSS. And…

Evers Low MOA from 1,000 feet MSL to 10,999 feet with the same times of use and ident MEVERSL. EXCLUDED is from the surface to 2,500 feet AGL within a 2.5 nautical radius of the Green Bank Observatory, WV.

Staying the same are comms for all of these pieces on 134.4 or 353.9 with ZDC and use by the 113th wing of DC ANG.

SECState is scheduled to split from the President's schedule and continue his travels to Israel, the West Bank, Morocco, and Algeria. Likely will require another C-32A or C-40B to cross the pond as he is currently traveling on AF1.

Also with FLOTUS travel tomorrow, the 89th AW will be even busier.

POTUS support C-32As 09-0016, 09-0017 as well as the SECDEF's "regular" C-32A 99-0003 are all currently committed.

Only 1 C-40B is available (01-0015) because 01-0040 is supporting INDOPACOM ADM Aquilino down under and 02-0042 (L-3 Majors, Tx) and 01-0041 (Delta Atlanta, Ga) are undergoing mx.

09-0017 quietly relocated from Ramstein to Krakrow, Poland a few hours ago. I'm guessing that officially it doesn't exist for purposes of routine transportation on this trip.

99-0003 is landing at Warsaw right now as SAM 674 with 48 SOBs.

As you predicted, another C-32A appears to be on the way to Europe, SAM 565.SAM 674.JPGSAM 565.JPG

CNN Reports:

Plane carrying Polish president forced to make emergency landing en route to meeting with Biden
From CNN's Niamh Kennedy and Anna Odzeniak

The plane carrying Polish President Andrzej Duda was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday, according to Polish government news agency PAP.
Duda was set to travel from Warsaw to Rzeszów to meet with US President Joe Biden.
"There was an emergency landing of the plane with President Duda; the plane returned to Warsaw," according to PAP.
A White House official also confirmed the emergency landing.
Biden will now be flipping his schedule this morning, meeting first with the members of 82nd Airborne Division and then participating in humanitarian events in Poland, according to pool reporters. Duda will participate as well if he arrives in time.

CNN's Kaitlan Collins and Allie Malloy contributed reporting to this post.

AF1 is in Rzeszów near the Polish border with Ukraine right now.
