Travis Space A shows two KC-10's to McConnell KIAB sometime this morning..
Seems Travis tankers scratched and rescheduled for this morning.. I notice the last few years or so that USAF overseas Altravs are
getting much more difficult to put together. It seems shortage of tankers and available crews. You notice now they almost always have to
wait for weekends to use Reserve tanker crews.I think I saw recent stat that USAF is now almost 60% Reserve operated.
Gone are the days I remember when 8 KC-10's would depart McGuire at same time on a weekday and drag 8 B-1's across.
I don't think they could even attempt moves like that anymore.Altravs seem to be low on USAF priority list anymore.
Makes it tough on fighter pilots keeping fingers crossed that their tanker doesn't scratch leaving them stranded elsewhere for long periods.
Maybe they should privatize more routine Altrav tanker operations to say Atlas Air :)

1400 local MAZDA-81 flight of 5 on ZDC UHF FL280. Nothing else heard after that.
I see GOLD-31 was inbound just before this time so maybe the five EA/18G Growlers inbound from Lajes.
GOLD-31 KC-46 went back North up the Coast to home base Pease.
MAZDA-81's prob went to NAS Oceana.Maybe later on this weekend work their way back to NAS Whidbey Island.
Been stationed since end of March in Germany.Supposed to be 6 of them..

GOLD-41 KC-46 #15-46009 just picked up someone in Germany and is enroute Lajes.Maybe the 6th EA/18G.
Should be in tomorrow about same time.

About an hour ago I saw a KC-135R (Eddie61) drop into Langley. Wonder if he's related to the Mazda's?
