New member here, and this is my first post. Generally, as a newbie in forums I like to lay low for a while and observe for a bit.

This sticky thread is of particular interest to me as living in New Castle DE there are frequently interesting things to photograph, in recent weeks ranging from refueling operations to a pass of the Boeing E-4 “Nightwatch.” I’d like to ask both freqhopping and fixingspurious: what gear were you using for the photos posted in this thread Wednesday and Thursday? As I’m sure you both know, capturing images of aircraft operating over 25K presents challenges…

Thanks! Off to photograph C-5M/HAGAR89 which should be heading back from Harrisburg shortly…

Strange way to lose an FA/18 fighter... someone may have to answer for that.
Guess even the Med can get rowdy in rough wx.

Fighter jet blows off USS Truman during bad weather | Washington Examiner

DEECEE-90 KC-135 #61-0307 enroute back to McGuire from Key West.
Prob departed from McGuire with McGuire Reserve Aeromed crew instead of home base Andrews for trip down there.

Catching the CAP is a challenge, but that's part of the fun. Early or late light is best as side light gives them depth, and they're easier to spot. I use Nikon equipment, a 500mm lens, edit in Lightroom. Starting with a crisp clear day image helps when it's time to crop. I like airshows/airports for quality close-ups, but it's cool to show others what's going on above. Good luck.

GOLD12 looks to be dragging the F-15QA's (unsure how many) eastbound with GOLD11 on the ground at PSM. Was listening to PSM ground on 120.950 and the GOLD11 KC-10 asked if Pease had cables in case of emergency. They're due into Mildenhall today.

Getting their weak A/A Tanker Boom coms down here on Coronet freq K1 343.100.
0930 local looks like GOLD-11 having trouble getting off the ground.
GOLD-12 will prob then just drag F-15's to Bangor.
0935 Looks like GOLD-11 off the deck but a ways behind now.

Rare C-130H visitor coming SW from way up that way. S3-AGB (702C02) Bangladesh Air Force.
Came West thru the Med and Europe the last few days

GOLD11 was delayed due to a fox on the runway. I've been on shift at Pease the past few days and there's been a rogue fox terrorizing airport operations since Saturday. Hopefully the USDA agents on staff take care of it soon!

Passing Kentucky at 8 am EDT the F-15QAs (callsign MITCHELL?) were air to air on the customary 252.525, boom on 343.1.

One of the pilots provided a recorded musical interlude of some Kenny Loggins song played during the opening scenes of a 1986 Navy pilot recruitment movie. ;)
