I have been hearing StL city fire and EMS talking back and forth on command Delta most of the week. I think they are using it similar to the way Firetac ?? is used on SLATER. It seems to be a comms 'go between' for the departments. I have heard that EMS has moved to the police comms building on Clark St. I guess they can't talk back and forth in the same room as before.

Having all the dispatchers in the same building (old or new)in the future will not fix their shortage of bodies to answer the phone. As a city resident I also want a police dispatcher to be a police dispatcher 100% of the time and proficient as possible for the job. The same for fire and EMS. I hope they don't mix their training and make the dispatchers jack of all trades and not masters of one.

Anyway, keep an ear out for Command Delta.

I've been listening to STL EMS and for the last week or so it seems like mass chaos

The last week their CAD system was down, they were using paper for everything. Assuming it's fixed now.

Did not know their CAD was down. I wonder if that could have been a reason for the poor sounding reception?

EMS and Fire dispatch were in the same building, fire HQ but they were in separate dispatch rooms across the hall from each other. They would communicate with each other via in house phone. EMS has moved to the city's 911 center and operating from portables for awhile and it's been chaos. I've heard some new EMS dispatchers, not sure if they were police cross training because they seemed sharp.

I've talked to some of the new EMS dispatchers and they have NO idea what they are doing. So not really sure
