Hello,

I've been trying to find a new ways to store used LMR400/600 cable when not in use. Lengths are 20 feet to 300 feet and as of the moment all I do is coil them up, mark the length and stack them on top of each other. Doesn't look organized after awhile. Hoping that other users out here can help with a better solution.
I've thought about hanging them but don't want to risk kinking the cable due to the weight of it hanging on a pole/bracket. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do you find it puts a kink in the cable? Needing something as I have anywhere from 100-150 runs of LMR 600 and 400 roughly. Stacking isn't cutting it anymore and it's an eye sore to look at.

Just a crazy idea, but could LMR or any co-ax be stored in one of those vacuum food sealer bags? I know they make some pretty big sized bags that could accommodate up to 300 feet of LMR. Quite possibly the vacuum would keep any moisture out of the cable and pulling a vacuum on the cable might pull any residual moisture out of it. Just a wild thought...

I hang mine. I use 12" pipe nipples screwed in to deck flanges screwed to the wall. At the other end is an elbow (pointing up) to reduce the likelihood of the coils from slipping off. It's also not a bad idea to tape up the ends the prevent moisture ingress, especially in humid environments. The coils are usually taped or tie-wrapped to hold them in a coil shape. I've never had any trouble with kinking.

I like this idea, was concerned with the weight of the 600 and sitting on the pipe. don't want premade cables getting too much db loss due to damage from hanging.

I've never notice any real deformation of the cables that have been hanging. If it is a concern, you might try using those half-round garden hose hangers. I use one for my air hose.
