Strange Phone Patch on 11175

[SCPD]

A very strange phone patch through Andrews tonight to report on 11175kHz. A caller talking with his parents while he was aboard a B-52 aircraft awaiting the arrival of a tanker. Call...Mom and dad it is Sam and Big-D and we are calling from a B-52 aircraft. We are awaiting a tanker to refuel.Mom please say over after you talk. After the conversation was terminated caller stated...Andrews this is 093 out.

The strange thing about this conversation is that it was seemingly very frivolous.

Wow, that is unusual. I've heard phone patches on 13927, but of course that's not even the same system.

Never heard anything casual on 11175! Interesting to say the least...

I remember listening to 14441.5 USB and picking MARS net w/ phone patches from sailors on USN ships. They were pretty short with one after another (probably just going down a list). Pretty interesting stuff but haven't heard this in a while. 13927 MARS net still active w/ morale calls.

I was only hearing the callers side of the conversation through the phone patch. Anybody know what the other frequency might be? It was indeed an interesting conversation that lasted for three or four minutes. Like someone mentioned Im sure that guy got his ass chewed out by his command after that stunt.

OTOH, you need to practice things now and then to make sure you can do it. Why not put the drill to some use?

years ago this was common, I have heard Congressman (B52)Bob Dornin many times on PP just BSing with people as well as politicians back on the Mystic Star network and the Echo-Fox.

On a monday morning in 1987, VP George HW Bush picked up a clear phone and started chatting on 11.175. Several monitors reporting hearing him back then. Then there is the famous/infamous Haiti Jimmy Carter mid-90's phone call that made the front page of several newspapers and was headlined on CNN.

Earlier tonight I heard the call Learjet on 11.175.
