The media version is much less "sanitized" than the public version, both as to the types of incidents displayed and the information within the incidents. The public site generally shows only traffic-related incidents, and only sketchy details. No crime calls, arrest information, pursuits, traffic stops, service requests (disabled vehicles, etc),
calls received by CHP but transferred to other agencies, etc. Also, the software - and/or the dispatchers - filters out personal information such as names, license numbers, phone numbers, nature of injuries, arrest history, and the like. I haven't had access to the media version for quite a while, but it would often display that kind of stuff.
