Idk the difference in digital and analog noise or sound. If the tyt md 380 is a 2way radio, and you can monitor the local pd, is there any remote possibility of accidentally transmitting on that system ? Im sure this is a dumb question, just wondering how to make sure that never happens. I can only immagine the world of crap a situation like that mite create.

I'm not 100% familiar with that radio or how it programs, but most radios allow you to program them for receive only or to actually select "tx inhibit" (transmit inhibit) on a particular channel. That's what you'd want to do. Again, I'm not 100% familiar with the software for that radio so I can't point you to the exact location in the software but it should have something similar to that.
