We have aquired an STX 821 (for type II) portable for a spare.
After programming, the radio had very poor receive quality, more like static than a recognizable transmission (off the system). Simplex transmissions were very clear (when transmitted by a nearby radio). Believing this to be a bad receiver in the radio, we took a known good radio (the type I equivalent) and did the board upgrade, hoping this would work. SAME problem. The radio transmits to the system fine, and will receive an occasional transmission (appearantly on particular frequencies in the system) fairly clear.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do?
Is there a way to check and see if the spacing may be incorrect in the stx software (if there is, I'm blind as a bat) ?
