I just started trying to get my 996xt setup for GPS scanning, and noticed that most of the sites for the system (NSRS) I want to scan are way off. Looking at it a bit more it looks as if most sites (especially the rural ones) have been centered on the geographic center of Nevada, and given a range of 315 miles!
I searched through all the sites that I'm likely to visit in the near future and drilled down through license after license until I found the correct coordinates. They've been placed in my personal files for my radio, but I figured I ought to share my work too. The suggested ideal submission has everything arranged in neat columns that are a consistent size. However, when you try to arrange a site like "Battle Mountain (east)" with a site like "Ely" things get confusing quickly as the columns don't line up well. Should I submit it like this anyway, or would it be easier for the admins if I sent a link to my dropbox where I have saved the original spreadsheet?
Also, the database has each site listed as a site number and Hex number. Does it matter which one is used to ID each site when I submit data? I imagine my travels the next few weeks are likely the first time anyone has tried to verify that what is in the db matches the real world for many of the rural areas of the state. Many of the sites I looked at had no license referenced, or the license had expired.
Thanks for your input, I want to make sure I do things the right way!
