The Sussex fire live feed sounds extremely over-modulated. Having had a lot of experience myself with feeds, it sounds to me like the volume on the scanner is way too loud. Is anyone else hearing this as well?

If the provider is here, could you try turning down the volume?

Thanks,

Mike

Well it was good there for a little over a week after my initial post, but now it's back to the way it was. Over-driven and inaudible.

On the feed page click on "Report a Problem" and you can send a message directly to the feed provider.

Sussex live feed

Today, the live feed is extremely loud and over-driven. If the provider is here, could you try turning down the volume a bit like you did before?

Thanks so much for a great service.

The feed is still inaudible...I'm guessing the provider rarely checks back here or his PM, or monitors his own feed.

I listen to Sussex from time to time along with the Ocean City feed. The Ocean City feed is on the slightly low side so I turn the volume up to hear that one. Always quite a jolt when I forget about the volume issues with the Sussex feed. I try to make sure I set the volume at the lowest possible level I can when I listen to Sussex to keep it from blasting but those times I forget can make you jump the first few seconds. LOL
Initially I just figured it was the De trunk system that was junk because the New Castle/Kent feed usually sounds horrible as well but the Kent feed by itself and the New Castle feed by itself both sound decent most of the time and sometimes slightly low volume.

I have the Sussex one on now & it's still blasting. And yes, this was one of the times I forgot to turn the volume all the way down when I first started listening.

He obviously doesn't even periodically monitor his own feed for quality.

Apparently not. I have it on now and it sounds just like any other day. It's too bad. It's a great place to listen to... When you can actually understand anything. One of our former dispatchers up here has a vacation cabin down there and he said the same about the feed when he listens from here. I think he described by saying something like the quality is so off the Q's sound like violins. LOL

I offered to put a Sussex feed up but was turned down admin said cause there is a current one

Bummer! What's the difference between your feed and the Sussex feed?

Kind of a side note/whine about the Sussex feed as well. It always saddens me to hear the feeds that have the audible dispatches but skips the tones. Maybe they went to a system like some places up here & dropped the voice paging but the Sussex feed has been like this for ages. Just a minor complaint compared to the audio issues but the 20 years of "whacker" in me always loves hearing the tones drop on the calls. ;)

I host the seaford feed when I hosted the Sussex feed a few years back I included the analog frequencies too which had the tones

All you have to do is add something else to your feed that the other one doesn't have, then your feed will not be "the same" and should be approved.

Is there a want from you guys to run a Sussex feed with a tone out channel?
