Based on what I just heard Sussex County Comm Center is now dispatching for Sussex & Wantage both Fire and EMS.
Dispatch is still occuring over Sussex Fire 1 for pagers, County is also dispatching Wantage EMS & FD on their existing freq. I was most surprised to hear Sussex EMS responding to county on the "County EMS Ops (Future Use)" frequency. The DB shows it as a P25 system with a NAC of 293, it is clearly not it's on 155.7075 with a CT of 151.4.
I will send a DB update as soon as I get more info. It would seem as if old Vernon (400) is no longer doing the dispatching, I wonder if the 911 PSAP has also changed. Honestly the change is good as County has a NJSP radio and NJSP patrol cars now monitor county dispatch. The previous system required many phone calls back and forth between either the Sussex Barrack or 2-COMM and Vernon. SPEN was rarely used and it introduced unnecessary delay in disseminating information.
I do have a bit of a bias as a Wantage resident.
