Soon as I state I'm going to stop logging, I get home tonight and there were radio checks all afternoon. Lots of "1,2,3,4,5's".
Interesting to see alot of normal TG's and quite a few I-Calls.
Did not hear any digital.
Will keep on logging and recording and keep you informed.

info on MH system

fleet mapping done. Programming very soon. They will begin doing some testing on the system immediately following programming. Dispatch going to Pineville as soon as some consloes are installed, looking like maybe Sept or Oct. System is strong and seems to be working well.

Will this TRS have APCO25 capabilities?
Will they be using digital radio's?

Far as I know it is capable. They are using digital radios, 2500/5000's but at this point all TG's will be analog, because the local FD is using mostly mts-2000 radios, and the system is slated for all public safety use in their town.

This TRS is starting to get alot busier with testing. It was the middle of the night but....I swear on Friday night that they were using the new TRS to communicate with Matthews PD.
I have re-set up my logging software.
Anyone in the area, feel free to help out with ID'ing talkgroups.

All of MHPD radios have been programmed for testing and to begin familierization with the new channels, but as far as I know there has been no reprogramming of the matthews consoles, now their com center may have one of the spare portables that MHPD owns for more testing procedures, but no recorders or other hardware are installed yet, so I doubt any official use is happening.

Ben logging alot more traffic with testing this week.
Mostly TG's 48 and 176.
Sounds like Mint Hill PD units were using the new TRS this week but having issues with dispatch being unable to monitor their traffic.
Could be an issue because Matthews and Mint Hill share dispatches.

Mint Hill is scheduled now to go live through Pineville dispatch on January 1. There has been some logistic problems switching over, but at this all seems to be going well. The system will be getting busier over the next few weeks/months as some more field testing will be going on

If this is a 3600 baud system, one way to find out whether or not the system will be using any digital communications is to see if it is a SmartZone site. Some systems are a single site (or simulcast) but use the zone controller so that they can use digital on the system. If trunker or treport is indicating that this system has a site number, then it's likely that it is SmartZone and they could potentially use digital. If the program does not indicate a site number, then it's probably a SmartNet system and will not carry digital so long as they do not have wireline consoles.

Thanks for the info. I still have the 330 logging any hits using AVC396. Been quite as of late.
The repeater antenna is only about 4 miles from the house.
Will keep everyone informed on any new testing.
I may switch out and use the 396, just to see if there is any digital use.
