• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Yes, you should be able to just read the radio and program the others as far as I know... I have only had one Tait TM9155 that was a couple years newer than the others we had that I had to read the radio first then import the programming. We have had the TM9100 series mobiles and TP9100 handhelds for probably 10 years with little problems for our Fire Dept. We have around a dozen TP9400's we've had for a couple years the only problem we had was the batteries wouldn't hold charge very long compared to the9100's but the dealer replaced them all for us and haven't had any more trouble
Good solid radios! We switched from Motorolas because of poor customer service and haven't looked back...
We got the radios today along with the programmong kit. Dealer says its everything I'll need. I installed the programming cable driver CD but dont see any icon showimg up on the desktop. Is there somethimg else I need to download to program these radios

You should have a disk that has the Tait Programming Application on it, or maybe a link to download it... I originally got a disk, then the dealer has given me a link a couple times to update the program. I'm not sure if it put an icon on my desktop or if I made a shortcut, but it should show up in your program list when you click the start menu if it installed the programming software. The driver was on a seperate disk.

Did not get a disk for the programming application just the programming cable driver. My sales guy is gettimg in touch with Harris to find out what to do.. Maybe someone forgot to put the application in the box with the rest of the stuff. I tried to create a short cut also bit I get a error message.

I think the question about programming onto a trunking system was addressed, and I believe I misspoke as well. Was thinking about a different type of system. I apologize for that.
