Hi. I’m fairly new to scanning. I have a WS 1040, digital trunking scanner. I don’t know how to find/calculate talkgroup IDs/alpha tags. Could anyone offer some help? I’d greatly appreciate it. :)

Most if not all of that information should be found in the database section. Start with the applicable state, then go to county, then locate the system of interest.

What programming software are you using? Everything I am familiar with uses decimal talkkgroup ID's for the WS1040.

This is what I see. The import option isn’t available

Looking at your photos, while you have selected the talkgroups, it appears you have not selected any sites. You must select at least one site before you can import.

It appears you're using PSREdit500 as I do. So, as @N1GAW has stated, you must select at least one site on the "Transmitter Site Selection" tab. Doing so will then allow you to select "import system".
