Hello, I am visiting Oneida County, Wisconsin. I understand they are using Tait.
I have a BCD436HP and am not able to receive any transmissions. Is there any way I can update my scanner in order to receive transmissions? Thanks

You can listen to Fire/EMS but law enforcement is encrypted.

I am able to monitor fire/EMS. Nothing but silence on the law enforcement channels.
Not even the encryption chatter.

When I travel around the state, I even monitor encrypted channels to log RIDs and study whatever other information I can glean. So if I scan someplace where they got a Tait system I'm not going to get ANYTHING? Like totally stealth?

I'm pretty sure Uniden scanners started muting the encrypted garbage starting with the BCD396(X)T. On my way back I will have to stop and park my radio on the freq. AFAIK, no real radio manufacturer has implemented encrypted RIDs yet.
