This will be a very stupid question. So I just got the Tecsun PL-660. I turned it on and played around with it a little bit to make sure it was working, but my wants to wrap it up for Christmas. Now when I turn it off, the battery indicator keeps flashing lo battery even though I never put the batteries in. Also the Timer A and B keep flashing alternately. This after the power is supposedly off and it isn't connect with the adapter. Is this normal? Is anything on the display going to burn out while it's sitting under the Christmas tree for the next three weeks? If so, how do I turn the display off completely? Any help will be appreciated.

I own a 600 and a 660. If it just says "timer a" "timer b" without a speaker icon then it is just normal. If it shows a speaker icon hit the timer button that goes with it to get it to go off. The display back light goes off after a minute on its own. I would charge the batteries up and it will be about three to four hours. Mine was so fresh off the boat I did not have to charge it. Also I do recommend listening to it on all bands a while before it is put away. I am very happy with mine. The only gripe I have is that it sometimes makes a gurgling sound when it locks onto strong signals. It will stop if I change the channel or if I charge the batteries briefly. It really did that when I first got it in October. I own four shortwave radios and it is really good if you ask me. Sometimes I have trouble going from fast to slow on scanning. I hit step and it will not change some of the time when I do a lot of scanning.
