Tecsun PL-880 LW setting

I read I should press the button that reads in red above the number 2 button 'LW on/off". I read press and hold until the display show LW on. Simple and straight forward. But it does not happen. All I see is the number 2, then 22, then reverts back to the previous/original display. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I don't know how to delete my post/thread. I found my answer: first power off the radio.
