Tecumseh Fire

I saw in the newspaper that Tecumseh Fire is to get a new radio system. Will this change also affect those on the same system in Essex County as well? Does anyone have any further information?

It would appear that Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Essex and a Amherstburg have either gong encrypted or to a new system.

There are a whole lot of changes going on down for those departments. I'm sure @Muxlow will chime in as he frequents the area a lot.

Further investigation showing they may have gone to the Windsor System which is encrypted. Yet to be confirmed.

The changes are the that the County Fire Dept's that border the City of Windsor, Tecumseh and Amhurstburg are going onto the Windsor radio system going 800 MHz P25 and it will be encrypted, just like the city fire is.

Leamington is leaving their own VHF DMR system and going UHF Connect Plus with the rest of the county (other than Kingsville, they are staying VHF)

The master plan is to have all of Essex County on Windsor's P25 system. No idea why since the city and county all get dispatched out by Windsor Fire, so just seems like a waste of money to gain....nothing.
