What kind of fone are you talking about.... some cell fones, if they are close to the radio, can make your reception go bad quickly when they are in use or communicating with the tower.... but being plugged in to a common AC outlet shouldn't have any impact on your reception.... Berea PD is on the Madison County TRS which means you should receive them fairly well all the time... are you using an external antenna or the one supplied with the radio?

I don't think the 2052 accepts PL/DPL... that might be the problem, there aren't many transmitters in the immediate area unless it might be chatter from the drive-thrus and Wally World and the like.... You might sit there sometime and do a search and see what freqs you can find that you receive to get some kind of an idea what you are up against....

Essentially they are subaudible tones or codes sent with the transmission so a radio on the same freq but belonging to a different agency won't key-up.... The 2052 doesn't decode PL/DPL which means you are going to hear a lot of cross-talk with frequencies near the one you want to hear... double check the freqs you want to listen to making sure they aren't repeater inputs, etc so you can minimize the amount of interference.... if you haven't had your 2052 long you might take it back and trade for the PRO 97 and get the cable and software.... it decodes pl/dpl. Unfortunately, the 97 will not monitor the KSP. Which agencies do you want to monitor, I might be able to help with a list for you... let me know if you get a 97 (it is easier for me to make lists in that format).
