Lewg26, I fell for you man...some of us get lucky. On my 3rd date with my wife she was rifling through her pocket book to get to some photos in the restaurant and placed a Ratshack handheld on the table. Love was instantanious. Good luck dude!

Am i the only one here with a very understanding wife?

Nope. Not the only one. I have a separate room for radios, drill holes in the cars, and anywhere in the yard is fair game for antennas. Not only that, she bakes cookies for the ham club xmas parties, sells the raffle tickets, organizes the YL events, and generally functions as club mascot. Oh... she's licensed, too.

Once again fellers it's not a simple matter of aesthetics, it's a matter of a totally illogical argument that needs a bit of looking into. A flat objection "it looks ugly" makes sense but here we have a selective objection and the unanswered question is WHO really objects and WHY? We all know "stealthy" ways of getting around antenna problems but that's not the issue here, the WIFE problem is.

Doctor Phil can you help?

I should consider myself lucky as well. I've got a 10' mast bolted to the side of the house sticking above the roof line, with an Antennacraft ST-2 and a RS UHF yagi for all the neighbors to see.

My wife tells me she doesn't care as long as she doesn't have to hear me talk about it. ;)

On the other side of the coin YOU don't care as long as you don't have to hear HER talk about it. (;->)
