TG ID help

I just last night got a 396 from Captin Craig( thanks Much Love It ) and manger to figure out how to program it. One of my systems I have labled as Larimer county , but when scanning it has TG IDs that I don't know what are and there nothing that I programed in. I erased the system and resent it, but still the same thing. I did know if any of you guys had this problem to. I also put this in the Uniden forum.

When it's scanning, does it say "ID Search" or "ID Scan"? My guess is it's in ID Search mode which is equivalent to open mode on the GRE/RS. If you hit <scan> (or is it Func -scan) while it's scanning the system, it will toggle between ID search and ID scan mode. You can also accomplish this through the menu I believe.
Remember, ID Scan = closed mode = only TG's you have programmed in will come through
ID Search = open mode = any TG coming off that tower will come through

Its says ID scan and the IDs only pop up in that system and on top of that their not labled like everything else. Can't figure it out.

K figured it out just didn't know how to toggle between the 2. Still learnin.

Just out of curiosity, was it the <Func>+5 command or something else? I thought the default was for it to display the text rather than the freq or TG...

No it was Func Scan to toggle between ID Scan and Search.

Theres also a new program called free scan and can be found on yahoo groups. You can use what is called EZ grab which is a simple copy and paste to program the 396.

Will have to look into that, Craig gave me the ARC396 Basic with it and its a big help.
