Just looked at the traffic cams. Not a sole on the highways! That's good!

And to think, the only ones that complained yesterday about staying off of the interstates, were the big rig 'professional' drivers who caused the majority of traffic jams two weeks ago:lol:

Stuck in Atlanta

From Raleigh NC, came to Atlanta to attend the Police Chiefs convention. Didn't get out in time! I do have my scanner with me. I have the Atlanta city programmed, but don't have state DOT. Couldn't find the listing on R/R. Any ides?

I spoke to someone in knoxville tenn today.
They said knoxville was like atlanta during "Leon" 2 weeks ago only they did not get any of the embarrassing negative publicity as we had.

They even had kids sleeping in school buses and school board bubbas in hot water just like here.

He also told me that earlier in the season they had some snow and treated the roads for that even but for "Leon" (he didn't call it Leon) they did not treat the roads or close anything and the various agencies all claimed to not know anything was forecast.

Wrong.

GDOT/HERO use Southern LINC, VHF analog, and have radios cross programmed on various DTRS systems. I've been dealing with them all day at my job

Macon was crazy all day with rain and cold weather.Some ice earlier but now most of it is coming down. I was hoping to be off tomorrow,but have to go in at 10. Everyone be safe.

But anyway we have southern LINC in our tow trucks...its like Nextel and I hate it...im trying to get my boss to go to another system since it is so outdated....in other news it has quit snowing for the most part here in Acworth but now it is all going to freeze...hello to day 3 of not working...ugh!

Portables don't have vehicle mounted antennas.

Maybe you can program him up some radios on somebody's DTRS ? :wink:

Haha your funny todd...I dont know how to do that...but no southern LINC is the only system that works statewide and then some...so i guess we are stuck with it..

I heard on the news that metro atlanta has 665 snow plow trucks. I have a hard time believing that.

i was told by a buddy of mine who works at KATL that airport has more plows than the entire ITP ( Inside The Perimeter ) area !!!
