I was wondering if the Uniden 436 and 536 already have the blue angels frequencies programmed into them. There is an airshow this weekend about 30 miles south of me and would love to listen to them. Thank You

They are there.

To confirm, open Sentinel. Database>USA>Iowa>Clinton>Nationwide>Air Shows and you'll see the US Navy Blue Angels departments (ground and aerial operations).

So if you are scanning the full database, you should hear them as long as you have the Military Service Type enabled on your scanners.

Personally I'd be inclined to create a Favorites Lists including the Blue Angels since it is so easy. That way you could turn off the full database and be more focused on your scanning. A lot of stuff is being scanned with the full database on and you could miss a transmission.

They are in the database. See nationwide -airshows. You will find a set of aerial operations frequencies and a set of ground op frequencies.

Having said that, it's a very short list and the real list is long. They performed near or over Baltimore/Annapolis twice in the last couple years and somewhere either in another thread here somewhere or a Google search I came up with a list that is 3-4 times the number of frequencies in this database.

I would recommend pulling the stuff out of this database to a favorites list and then doing an Internet search. Somewhere I found a confirmed list and I added to what is here.

Thanks guys. I did what you said. I created a favorites list and shut the full database off. It's only scanning for the blue angels now.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
I've found I get pretty good results at air shows and other events by just turning on close call. Not only do you hear the planes but also the security ops, any PD or FD using radios nearby as well as people chatting on their little FRS and GMRS radios. I just turn on close call, pop in some earbuds and let the scanner do the rest while I watch the show. ;)

That actually is a great idea if your airshow is at a field out in the boonies or at least some distance from any metropolitan area.

If your show is over a city, your scanner will be going continously and you might never hear a peep from the Angels.
