Screw cellular. They hog enough spectrum and have already taken enough more the past 10 years just for transmitting vertical video tiktok trash. Deprioritize the sewer traffic and they'll have plenty of bandwidth for actually useful needs.

The Pentagon should 100% relinquish these frequencies inside of the continental United States. Why? Because they can still use these frequencies outside of CONUS for whatever weapons systems would have use for them. There is no need to squat on frequencies that they would have no need for inside our borders...

Let the military keep their allocations. Not just because the amatuer service shares the 420-450mhz spectrum. If you are going to build communications equipment then please test it in a realistic manner. Sending radio/radars or whatever into combat that has only been tested in lab conditions is bad.

Just Google US Navy torpedo performance 1942 to 1944.

These frequencies are used in the United States for training, testing, and defense of the United States.

5G is a load of marketing crap as well as a more privacy invasion in regards to pinpointing your EXACT location. So I never enable it in my phone. Heck, I don't even keep the GPS on either. Might be bad in an emergency though. Unless you're right near a tower you're not getting actual 5G speeds anyway. Which means more and more cell sites need to be erected. Like on light poles and whatnot. Which then means who controls the backhual?

In synopsis, the higher in frequency you go, the more cell sites you need. It's like a needed mesh setup for 801.11ac or 802.11ax in a home or business. 5 and 6 GHz tends to bounce off walls and whatnot...

5G does have a place though for a lot of cool stuff. Like augmented reality or whatever...

Whether the privater sector or the DoD needs the spectrum more I'm not sure. Seems like the military does have a chunk already though.

My LTE phone can pinpoint my location within 1m.

5G is a technology not a speed measurement. You can be on 600MHz getting sub 500mbps speeds but you're still on 5G.

Explain.

If it's GPS or some Google service that uses Wi-Fi triangulation that's totally different.

Looks like T-Mobile has invested extensively in 600 MHz for 5G.
