I didn't think of the example because I knew it wasn't the case... That - or they use their fake name when they are not on the show too

If anyone's paid brief attention to any given episode, or the pictures of the vehicles that are floating around the internet, they've been seen using Motorola VHF M1225s and CM300s with 5/8 wave antennas.
Someone posted the actual frequencies they use on a board a year or so back (don't remember which one) but from what I recall it was just MURS with a DPL. No harm.
