I broadcast this scanner online. I have a splitter in the back one cord goes to computer speakers withg regular audio jack (volume adjustable speakers so USB to computer powers them) and the other cord goes into the audio in portion of the computer tower. Now i am trying to broadcast tags by plugging in the scanner programming cable plugged into the usb port. When i do this when the cable touches the jack it makes the noise you hear. It also quits the feed quit a bit. Even speakers all the way up and scanner up its a faint loudness. Did i miss something or?

I wouldn't give up on the Wi-Fi yet. Once you have the Reserved IP solution figured out then you'll be glad you switched to Wi-Fi

Is the port on the front bad on the radio? Does anyone else radio do this?

The front port works. It's for Mass Storage and Serial Port mode. What are you trying to do?
Are you using it for the Serial Port? If so, did you press the Yes key after power cycling.

I and others would like to help but you're bouncing around to much and starting a new thread doesn't help.

The other thread i had was to do with the serial port, which i thought i could run cable for tags in but you straightened me out on that ProScan. I just want to make sure that when this scanner does this in the video its supposed to do that and i dont have a problem somewhere. This option was more for Scannercast. If i wanted to use tags for Scanner Cast i should be able to plug the programming cable into the front of the radio while have the splitter for audio out the back. But, when i do this the audio dampens to nothing and makes that noise when i touch the front of the scanner. I do press "./no" on the scanner to make it serial which would send data to scannercast. Why does the audio diminish to nothing?

536 ext speaker

just a guess....

You do know that the speaker output on the 536 is not referenced to ground. Sounds like you have a grounding problem.

If you ground one of the speaker leads, you are shorting out one side of the audio amplifier, not a good thing to do....

several threads have discussed this issue,....

You missed multiple people telling you to use the Wi-Fi connection because you get better audio quality with a direct digital connection, and plugging anything into the headphone or speaker jacks without a ground loop isolator will short out the audio signal and possibly damage the scanner. Quit screwing around with the hybrid USB and audio cable mess and use the Wi-Fi. Your feed will sound better, and you will avoid damaging the scanner.

Setting a reserved IP address for the scanner is not difficult, figure out how to do it.

OK. Thanks for the input. I have been using WiFi with the dongle and reserved the ip to scanner and will see how it works. I have no reviewed the grounding issue and will stop!
