I don't see anybody else selling them except for Stridsberg and Scannermaster.

$199 Scannermaster
$185 Stridsberg
$195 Stridsberg (with N connector on input port instead of BNC)

Any place else I see even mentioning show them as out of stock.

Best price? $10 isn't much in this world. But if I were you I'd go directly to Stridsberg and order. Of course, you might find one used on Ebay.

Just curious if the splitter will still work properly without power? I am guessing that the splitter will work but the amp will not, but still want to confirm that the splitter is not dependent on power.

The unit will still work but nowhere near as well as without power. On mine I tried removing the power and the signals were weaker than having the scanner connected directly to the antenna.

The only real "wow" between the TV amps and the Stridsberg is the price. I use both and for the price the Electrolines are not much of a loss if you encounter issues. I wouldn't recommend anything but the 8 ports since the gain is less.

The 8 port EDA-2800 has a 4db gain.

I see the 4 port EDA2500MMA has 1.5db gain....

How did you block the DC?

The other issue I can see is F connectors vs BNCs, means I'd need to use adapters or a F-BNC cable to each scanner.

Are there any passive options? I'd be ok with a 1-2db loss. Stridsberg make a passive one but the insertion loss is 7db on the 4 port.

I'm looking at the MCA204m as a low cost solution to using a single antenna with several receivers. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Any comments, good or bad? Worth the $185-200 price tag? Do the unused ports need to be 50 ohm terminated?

Thanks!

They are excellent devices. I have a couple of of the MCA204M's and a MCA208M. had them for years with no problems. I use mine for VHF UHF aircraft frequencies and love them. They also hold up will too nearby ham radio transmitters.
