I'm not intimately familiar with the NX-5x00 series, however I do know that they have an option for P25 Voting Scan. I do not know if that applies to analog conventional as well.
Yeah I see that too and I don't know either. I was hoping to just create a zone for each of the 4 divisions with the 2 rx freqs in each and set each zone to some form of zone-slaved non-priority scan.
The only way I am aware of is to set dropout delay =0 and a fairly tight squelch setting. That way it will switch to other channel immediately if signal is noisy. But, this will probably only be satisfactory if radio is dedicated to the Thruway since it can't be done on a per channel basis and will be an annoyance on other channels. This is essentially the way the Thruway operated with older radios.

That's what I do currently but this way I can geographically label each zone and switch zones as I enter and exit each one while the radio is somehow automatically scanning the 2 freqs for the better signal
I think they have reduced the power, I live line of sight with their headquarters in Albany and I barely pick them up anymore. Can pick up the maintenance channel clear as a bell.

I suspect that the Crawford Rd and New Baltimore Towers may provide enough coverage of the Albany area that the headquarters tower is only for backup on the main line channel.
