Thunder Bay OPP

Hello, All...

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on TBay OPP frequencies.

I've just moved here, and am in the process of populating my 296D with local freqs gleaned from the Web, the RR Database, and even an old copy of Haruteq (circa 2001). Unfortunately, nothing tells me what the OPP uses in the TBay area.

Fiddling with TAFL yields a bunch of freqs in the 140 MHz range, licensed to "Her Majesty the Queen"; not exactly what I'm looking for, and nothing in the listings for Zones 1 - 3 appear to be in the local area. Any suggestions?

That section of the OPP still uses the old NOR system. I would check this Web site and see what freqs are the most active in your area. You will hear a constant squaking when the channel is ready for use.

When you hear something, let us know what you find.

I submitted them to the database a long time ago but no one ever bothered to put them in.

So what you're saying is there's no need for them in such as a database like radioreference.com So you refer the person to a book that's been out of print for how many years now.

Regardless, they should be in the database. Maybe not so much anymore because of the system being phased out, but they should've been in there a long time ago, because well, you do need the input frequencies in order to listen to the NORS repeaters properly. Not all the time will you hear the whole conversation on the repeater side of things.

Geez Dave of all people I would've thought you would've been the first to realize that.

Oh well, atleast he can get them on the old website that was referred earlier in the thread.

Forgive my ignorance...but where does Fleetnet Zone 3 coverage end? I mean, I'm sure that places like Thunder Bay, Chapleau, Kenora, Moosonee etc are out of range...but where does it start?

Lot of good suggestions. I've loaded everything into my 296D, so we'll see what happens. Unfortunately, my office is somewhat opaque to RF, so my listening will be confined to the evenings at home...
