Active Frequencies, unk. if thunder related

260.9000 sounded like a airborne command post, contacted Wright-Patterson Dayton flight service on 344.600

And 282.800 National Guard ops is the listing I have for this, active traffic.
It could also have been related to President's visit up in Ohio.

But it would be worth plugging in to scanner for Saturday. Also bring high water boots, the great lawn is flooded.

Caught DEMO 1 (F-15C's, 33rd FW, Eglin), a flight of two, F-15C west coast demo team flying over Nashville enroute to Louisville using UHF ATC freqs. But the most important one was they were chatting away on 384.55 air to air. Definitely have that one in plus 376.025

I am under the weather and might not be making it after all. Hopefully, but iffy.

Hopefully some attendies will give us a good report.

I ended up working today, if I'd known they would be doing some practicing today, I would have changed my schedule. News reports said Military helicopters were practicing yesterday. Some jets were in town and a C-130.

Me I'm watching on TV and scanning or what airborne stuff I can get.

I did not see anything on Monix, 288.325

Heard GATOR 31 x 3 (F/A-18A, VMFA-142, Atlanta) using UHF ATC freqs with Indy Ctr headed for their flyover for the Thunder Airshow @ 1518L (1618Est).

Their a2a was on 345.05

I'm not sure if they're planning on landing KSDF after flyby or not. Mentiond 268.1 (DERBY OPS) as operations. Not sure if they are using this for Thunder Ops or not. Hopefully some locals can confirm.

268.1 is SDF airport National Guard ops channel. I have been hearing some traffic on it. Not sure how involved though.

I heard some on those freqs also, most was heard on the Air Boss Ch 132.3250, I did hear activity on the Derby Ops Ch also. I got to test my Pro-96 on Mil-Air, worked just as well as my Pro-97, what a relief!

I was there. I have very little experience with the air bands, but I caught the Army helicopters saying things like "3-2-1- starburst!" somewhere near 124 or 126 mhz.

On the police side, i listened to the tactical channel and there seemed to be activity on the suburban/urban interface channel.

Well, Danny if your Pro-96 worked well on milair after tricking it with that software what are some of the milair freqs you heard? Did anyone catch the discrete's for the F-15, F-16, A-10 and F-18F demos? They always call their next moves on their respective discretes to the spotters. How about any civilian discretes? I think Danny found the airboss (VHF side) which is a good start. If you didn't catch any of the above i guess you tried. Thanks anyway.

I had put in all of the freqs that were posted in this thread into my Pro-97 and 96, and listened to them both, They both stopped on the same freq most of the time. I heard activity in 286.100 Derby Ops(KYANG), A-10 Demo, F15-16 Demo 283.7000, heard alot of activity on the 260.9000 freq(did not know if it was related to the airshow). I just checked the extended frequecies box in Win-96, that allowed me to enter the Mil-Air Freqs. If there was other activity on freqs other than that I did not hear it, because I did not do a search during the air show. Most of the activity was on the Airboss freq 132.3250, sounded like most of the military planes were directed to the airboss channel. I did hear most of the activity from mil-air at takeoff and landing, and some aircraft to aircraft, once they got into the "BOX" they communicated with the airboss.

You're Welcome. I would have heard more, but my kids wanted to do other things, which was fine with me. We all had fun.
