What does BS mean on a TIII channel.

Here in my area of New Zealand we have a strange few channels that have a DMR tier 3 frequency setup with NO control channel. It works as standard 2 way DMR but with a TIII format.
Uniden doesn't like it as its not trunked with a control channel, it will only hear the transmission in conventional setup.

DSD shows this as TIII BS, doesn't show any network or site numbers or channel numbers as it doesn't have any. Just the frequency, and slot numbers.

I have a Tait network where and when using DSD+ FL v2.368, it shows the VC channels as TIII BS with no network ID.
When voice activity is seen, then it displays as TIII (TAIT) BS but still with no network ID.
I have a custom solution that I use and it displays the network ID on these channels.

In this case, this Tait network does have a CC.

And uniden with a tier 3 may need to be adjusted with LCNs halfed to follow the system without missing conversations.

Would this be the vital T3 network or the push wireless T3 network

Interesting are you able to take some raw recordings or PM the frequencies and I'll see if it happens on my set up.

The frequencies are 462.06875 - McCains Washdyke
Ashcomms - 164.9125 Dalgety Range, 164.1625 and 164.8500 Waitohi Hill, 163.0625 cave hill. These all work separately and are TIII format.

Canterbury comms have 163.050 then they have 163.175 and 162.675 and these 2 are linked together with the same user but both use different colour codes on 2 different transmitters.

Are you simply seeing the TIII at the bottom of DSDPlus or are you watching the black scrolling window and seeing other indications of a Tier III (trunking) system?
If you are seeing only slots, it is likely you are missing a control channel somewhere.
There should be something that gives other groups that share the slots notification that it is in use. There is a CapMax Tier III system near me that uses a Cap+ type intermittent control channel.

Definitely no control channel.
It says BS Tiii down the bottom.

This is some sort of custom setup with no CC.

I asked you what you mean by "TIII format". Don't be so clueless.

So probably just conventional channels and nothing to do with Tier III.
Seems like it. Its a digital frequency with one talk group for a factory which transmits the same as standard dmr with the coding of a tier 3 voice channel.

I'll seconded that.
Any further discussion about this is pointless without seeing what your seeing in the console or seeing it for ourselves with a IQ sample of the channel in question.
