Hello to all, I’m new to GMRS and was wondering if it would be possible for effective communication between Tipton and Kokomo with two 50watt radios I can receive traffic from Russiaville 700, M-town 600 and ICE 550 (I know this one is too far south to do what I am looking for) repeaters on my td-h3. I would look into a roof top antenna if needed if it would even work. Has anyone had any experience in this area doing what I’m looking for?

I would certainly think you could make that distance. I'd make sure you go with a decent antenna system. I haven't ran gmrs in the area, but I've gone farther than that on 70cm (440mhz) amateur radio.

I own the Michigantown 600 repeter. It works in tipton and Kokomo. It should work well for you with a decent radio set up. Ht radio will work ok not in the car. If you need any help you can reach out at Wrou622@gmail.com. thanks.
