My city and county have this in their tone section i am wondering how I can listen. I was told by my county Qourm court that members of the public can listen to dispatch.

You need a DMR eabled scanner either one of Unidens (996P2, 325P2, 436, 536 or one of the SDSs) with the paid DMR upgrade.

On one of the Whistler scanners that supports DMR conventional out the box.

Most likely need to put the scanner in search mode to find the missing talkgroup and slot. Information. They you can submit the complete information to update Radio Reference.

I have the Uniden BCD 536. From 08-09-2021 Drew county Arkansas Qourm court

Justice Knowles asked why the public cannot hear the police scanners. It was mentioned that they are not encrypted but that they are digital scanners, not radio scanners.

Yes there are many types of digital like NXDN, DMR and P25 to name some of some them used in public safety or business radio systems. Both DMR and NXDN are separate paid upgrades on your model of scanner. P25 is included already.

Most public safety uses P25, many also use NXDN or DMR.

Digital scanner, radio scanner or police scanner are all different names used and most often they really mean the same thing.

Based on original post in this tread I have already told you what is needed for your 536 to decode this channel. That is way DMR is shown with slot, color code, and talkgroup. All them are required to listen to DMR. Even if don't have all of information you can just enter the frequency after the DMR upgrade and scanner will discover the information.

Looking more into the Drew County looks like Justice Knowles doesn't really understand, since the link below shows both Sheriff and Police fulltime encrypted on the system.

DMRE is fulltime encrypted and if it was DMRe would be part time encrypted. E is fulltime and e is part time.

The DMR upgrade already resides in the scanner firmware. You just need to enter the key to enable it. When you purchase the key from Uniden, it will be emailed to you immediately. What firmware version do you have?
