Indiana State Police are trainned LEOS when it comes to Indiana Severe Weather. All Indiana LEO'S get a class on Severe Weather Spotting and reporting by the Indianapolis NWS at The ILEA before going back to their jobs across the state. This also includes City,County,State, University and Airport Police including Town Marshalls and Deputy Marshalls and DNR officers. All of the above named officers can report severe weather including reporting of Tornados and Funnel Clouds. They all do a great job keeping the public(You and Me) safe.Next time you see a LEO on the street, Thank them for what they do keeping all of us safe.

I didnt see any leo's at our spotter class...however the EMA director and several of her assistants were there. Thank yourself for keeping YOU safe...didnt know you had a police escort everytime you left your home!

There is a reason meteorologists came up with the phrase "sheriffnado" (it's not a compliment ;) )

This thread has went from a Possible Funnel sighting, to a Tornado, to insults, from a weather guy who knows EVERYTHING! I hope the moderators close this thread..sheesh!

Most LEO's get trained in the academy and updated through private training with the NWS which is why you don't see them at YOUR weather spotting training. State Troopers go to ILEA for weather spotting classes held by NWS, aain, you won't see them at just any NWS trainin session.
and I agree, this thread went from one thing to another because some people can't understand that thay LEO's saw what they saw and the NWS CONFIRMED their sighting. End of subject!

Please provide proof that the NWS confirmed the sighting. Rob and I provided proof that the NWS did not include the sighting in their Local Storm Reports. If you are going to keep arguing that the NWS confirmed, prove it.

Actual the subject of this thread indicates that "tornado" was mentioned right off the bat.

And no worries about the insults - it's interesting that so often the people who feel the most "hurt" about a subject are the ones that know the least. There are two ways to react in that instance...

Really Viper? I mean are you seriously arguing about this? You realize this is what Rob does for a living? I think you're seriously underestimating Rob's training and experience in weather, specifically severe weather.

I'll tell you what, I'll leave this open to see if you can provide the requested proof..
