Anyone have any ideas what will be in use for the Tour De Georgia Bike event? I know there is a helicopter involved for chase and video. Any help is appreciated!
Last year I was a volunteer with the race and worked communications with ham radio operators on the Dahlonega Leg.
Last year the race had a rolling chase broadcast and the freq. was 450.8875
I don't immediately see a similar setup for this at their website but I only looked it over for a few minutes. You can look around there some more yourself if you like.
From what I've heard, they're not using volunteer communicators this year and were to provide their own communications. I would scan all of the UHF business band frequencies. There's another chance that they might be using Nextels or something this year.
Going through N Forsyth county as I type. SO using TG 2014. Don't know what the race group is using. Tried 450.8875, very noisy and lots of static. 1:20pm. Info for the riders on the uhf freq in english, german, and french. 1:30pm.
