I am looking to get a make and model of a tower i was given (5 sections)

i have no exact specs as it was something i came across while out with my girl.

Its made of Aluminium

Sections are Square not triangular

Sections are roughly 10-14" wide

Sections are 8-10 feet long

Structural webbing is very similar to the Rohn 65G one rod multi bend layout

Joints do not slip together but are stacked and 2 locking plates bolt together similar to the 65G i cant tell on the 65G if the 4 bolt joints are welded in place or free to move, this tower is free to move/spin he joint for easy alignment. one set is circular with 4 bolt holes, the rest are 2 bolt units

Hope to pick it up today but im not optimistic i will have time, i will have photos at that time though.

Picture would help.

Are you sure it's a radio tower and not truss for theatrical lighting? 4 sided and aluminum sounds a lot like the truss stuff a friend of mine uses for lighting support.

Wow, that certainly is a tower. Not something I recognize. Should be interesting to hear from others.

Scaffold?

I'm wondering if this is scaffolding. First off it's wide enough to fit a 2 by 12 between the legs. Second it looks like paint on the black sections, like maybe someone was painting on a scaffold.

Base colour is not black or orange, its more of a whiteish, the black is something someone has put on afterwards, its quite thick but not as thought it was sprayed like a gun would produce.

The orange is sprayed but at a better quality but still far from great.

The rungs do not line up enough to allow a flat lay across both sides at once and i would doubt the strength for a safe WLL with the board sitting on a single rung as they are aluminium and i can flex them with my foot.

Interesting though though

The orange colour is a hint that it might be from an airfield - lighting tower or a glideslope mast perhaps?

Ok...admit and fess up...what airport have you visited lately?
Folks...that tower is from an airfield...ie:airport.....that probably held ground radar dishes or antenna. Looks exactly the same as the stuff they have at LAX. Hmmm...maybe I should drive back and see if any are.missing...

Interesting, i have noted a tower base that looks like a match but i will not be walking in to have a look as its located on the local Military base.

At least i have an idea where its used.

Thanks all.
