Has Trenton PD discontinued its patch of its dispatch channel to the
Mercer County Interoperable Public Safety Radio System TGID 348?
The mode in the DB shows DE but it's been open for the past couple of years....

Hi Bob I haven't heard from you in a long time. As you know I've been retired from Trenton for quite a while and really have no interest in listening to the PD or ever going there, but they have been in the clear dispatch for a long time on C3-02 TG 2283 2 COMM Hamilton headquarters on NJICS. It has not been marked as E.

As I say I haven't paid attention but anytime I want to listen to Trenton dispatch after suspects from Trenton would come to tullytown in PA and rob the Walmart, I would just go to that talk group and they would be there loud and in the clear. I'm pretty sure the rest of the police are also on the same system and are encrypted..

That would be talk groups like conversation, Street crime one and two, the old Channel 5 and 6, supervisors conversation, CIB, detectives, homicide and other talk groups.

Going off the top of my head because it's late I think it's been quite a while since they've been on Mercer County's TRS which they used or were lent? After the nxdn crap system moved them off when city council wouldn't pay the bills.

My guess would be because it was a terrible system from day one in 2015 or so. That was in the clear for 5 years until somebody let the cat out of the bag and it went encrypted.

Now here's the caveat.. word on the street is that the state police are going encrypted and they will be starting with the central units.

Will Trenton police dispatch also be encrypted on 2 comm, who knows, they're not now.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everything is going good up there in Yardley.

I'm going to really miss 10 comm NJSP Marine Division on the river.

Hello Bob, Thanks for the reply. I've been listening to Trenton Dispatch, for the past year or so, via a patch to Mercer County Interoperable Public Safety Radio System TG 348. Even though RR Database indicates the mode for 348 is DE it's been in the clear for the past year. As of two weeks ago it's been silent. I believe C3-02 TG 2283 2 COMM hits the Bordentown site, which my antenna can't hear, so I'm out of luck. It's really a mute point as NJSP will be encrypted shortly. Hope you have a great holiday season.

I'm surprised they are still on the Mercer County TRS. I don't check that because using the Bordentown simulcast site they come in so much better on NJICS. You being a little North they are also on Trenton simulcast site.

Thanks for the holiday wishes and I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

I pulled up my Mercer feed server and have been watching it for the last 10 minutes. It appears that Trenton PD 1 on the NJICS (Trenton site) is patched to Prosecutor 1 on the Mercer P25 system, both encrypted. No other patching appears to exist. 2 Comm appears inactive this whole time. I cannot immediately check the UHF frequency as it is not currently configured in my feed server, but I could check that over the weekend.

Thank you sir.. I find that the Bordentown site judging by my location works a tad better than the Trenton simulcast site for me. But it does look like we've lost them. Some loss huh. Just listen to the north Philly districts, can't tell the difference.

Remember trying to pick up the trunked nx48 hot mess with no control channel tracking TRX's years ago huh. LOL

It's off season so I have not been listening to 10 comm..

I think you remember when they first got the nxdn around 2015 they got rid of the SPEN radios.. Bucks County or the New Jersey State Police had no way to talk to Trenton.

The Trenton dispatcher said "we don't have none of them spinner radios nomore" hilarious stuff.

For a while they had to dispatch a 6 comm state trooper on the ground to join the State chopper when they responded to Trenton so they could communicate with the officers on the ground.

Took Bucls a while also to talk to Trenton other than the phone when they bordered each other.

What a loss to lose New Jersey State Police. I can remember the old 800 MHz state police system when they started out.

Times they are a changing.

My Mercer feed is located in Hamilton with a rooftop antenna, so the Trenton site comes in well for me.
