Currently Trooper 4 Delaware SP chopper working with Chester County on Police National freq 155.475 searching treeline near a Home Depot/Walmart area near Motel.
Having Com problems yet I can hear both clearly down here in Maryland.
Have a feeling one or other is off a few MHZ possibly.
Trooper 4 clearing out with their infrared system not working anyhow..
They report not seeing anything.

Trooper 1 from possibly from Pa State Police now moving in for search on same freq.
Now TROOPER 1 states he can't hear ground units on same 155.475 freq either yet within
visual range.Base relays search info on same and readable.
Sounds like PA Troopers from Chester County have radios programmed wrong or on incorrect channel.

I was working in Berks County and heard this... Chester is 800 MHZ and PSP is VHF so the 800 MHZ was some how simulcast onto VHF. It was annoying to listen to and since I am in the Berks, Montgomery, Chester border I picked up a PRO 96 just to be able to hear what is going on. Thanks to ScanJunkie I got the correct codes, but what a cluster... Most of us have NEXTEL and use that instead of the radio but as far as a heli involved I don't think the use of NEXTEL would be wise... Thanks for reporting this and listening.....

Hi Group,
It's amazing chesco was able to figure this out at all based on past incidents where I have heard air support ATTEMPT to aid Chesco. More training need for interops for sure.
Anyway,
That incident would have been in Longwood Pa I believe.
Chesco's LTR MultinetII system does have 155.475 on a TG. Any radio in the county can access the crossband to it (no dispatcher action required) but I believe it has a PL tone on it to keep other regional stations out. (That may inadvertantly get in on a CSQ RX thus tying up a voice channel )

Just my guess.

Actually, West Sadsbury Twp, IAO US 30/PA 10. There's a Home Depot and a Walmart in that area. I believe it was an prisoner who was arrested and escaped from custody pre-transport, but don't quote me on it.

Dave you are correct though in that I can't believe these days with all the tech crap they can't get adjoining State/Counties to com with each other easily.
Motorola and others sell this high priced crap to various State/County agencies with promises they don't keep.
Local govt's are to blame also as they do no more then send memos to each other regarding such joint coms and thats the end of it.
Those ridiculous coms I heard were not of a real serious incident but if they were could have been added problems to a catastrophe... who knows but us listening?
Sure is scary that the 2 wealthiest counties per capita in Pennsylvania and Delaware can't even air/ground coms on simple National police freq.
Hopefully better heads will prevail soon. What are they doing with all that Homeland security money?
