I live in central Ohio and I am trying to monitor the Delaware County P25 system. I can't figure out why the audio keeps cutting out and seems to be garbled at times. The signal meter shows a full signal. I have tried switching the threshold high to 75 and the low to 50. I have also tried putting the noise threshold to 35. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Looks like you are trying to receive a CQPSK simulcast system. Good Luck!

When I want to receive my local CQPSK simulcast system, I put my scanner in one of many hot spots in the house. I found the hot spots by trail and error. Most of the hot spots are not in logical or expected places.

If you know of a scanner that can receive CQPSK simulcast, let me know.

When you're driving around, it's going to be tough. Better bet is to stay stationary and turn it to OFF instead of ROAM

This difficulty I am having is when I am at home. I have a scantenna on the roof. Does anyone think a signal amplifier would work?

If the signal meter is showing a full signal, then it is more likely that you are getting interference from other sources. I'd try degrading the overall reception (turn on attenuation, use a less efficient antenna, etc).

I have a full signal indication for my local CQPSK Simulcast system. I have the full signal for my hot spots and my poor receive spots. I do not understand why some locations in my house I hear everything and some locations I can hear very little.
If I put up an outside antenna, I would have a very directional antenna. I would use that antenna to receive a signal from one simulcast transmitter and try to null out or reduce the signals from the other simulcasts transmitters.
I do not think a receiver pre-amplifier would help.
I found that the best settings for my scanner are the factory default settings.
