I'm stumped on this error message in the Trunk-Recorder screen output...

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else see a similar no source covering freq message?
It's worth noting that it's always with this specific talkgroup as well. That seems weird, and suggest a software issue to me.

[2024-03-24 18:33:36.338223] (error) [fleetnet-fenelon] 45C TG: 2OPS05 ( 8288) Freq: 0.000000 MHz Not Recording: no source covering Freq

What I've done this far to try and solve it:
1. Added a second RTL-SDR to my system, expanding it to cover the entire 140 to 144 MHz spectrum
(which is beyond the known frequency range the Ontario Fleetnet systems uses)
2. Extended the Smartnet bandplan high freq to 144000000

140-144MHz is only one of 3 frequency ranges in the Fleetnet system. It's possible that the site has a frequency not within the one range you're covering.

You could program all 3 ranges into a scanner and see what frequencies the scanner lands on or use a program capable of monitoring that type of system such as Trunk88 and see what it shows.

It sounds a lot like it is failing to convert the channel id to a valid frequency. You'll need more detailed debug information to see what OSW was received and how it was interpreted.

Since you already have two rtl dongles, you could try running op25 on this smartnet system and see what it thinks is going on.

I've been seeing the 0.0000mhz stuff for years, I honestly think it is something that isn't voice traffic so it never gets a voice freq assigned to it. But could also be one of those annoying Smartnet things that people hate programming for.

BTW, I looked at Trunk88, tried to figure how to install it, and gave up after half an hour.
I didn't see any readme or install notes and couldn't figure out what the multiple different applications did.
Any clues would be appreciated.

I figured out the 000.0000 stuff today.
Fleetnet is adding new voice channels to sites, my local site got a new one recently so I was getting a lot of the 000.0000 issues. I had to change
"bandplanHigh": 143970000.0 to the number of the highest freq, and now the issues are gone.
141.435141.675142.125142.380c142.710c142.950

Were my freqs before but now they added in 143.9700 and my bandplanhigh didn't take that into account..

Yep, sorry, I should have posted as follow up.
I'm also not seeing those messages any longer and also raised my bandplan high to 144 MHz.

Here's my config, using a single NooElec rtl-sdr v5.
