Hi all,
I'd like to know how to do an ID search on a big statewide system. Normally I just do ID scans with the TGs I'm always listening to, and for the most part that's great, but I'd like to play around with looking for any new groups on the system that might not be in the database. I can only receive one site on the system from my location, so it would be a question of seeing what's affiliated with that site.

I'm trying to find TGs affiliated to the West Orange site on the NJICS system in New Jersey
So what's the process to just search for group names and IDs from the control channel? Thanks in advance.

To change modes, press in the large silver knob and press "Scan/Search".

Watch the display.

Group names will not display - only numbers - unless you have the names programmed in the scanner.

Good luck!

OK, that's working but now I'm wondering what the best way is to log the groups. What I've been doing so far is use Proscan's "History Logging" tab and doing a manual search on the RR Database of talkgroups for the system one at a time. I'm thinking there's got to be an easier way of doing this. Also, is it possible to digitally record the audio on a suspected new group when I'm away from the radio so I can try to identify it at a later time?
