How do you remove system info from file? Don't need while scanner operating. To much info on screen. When I save file, info returns. Don't want it on scanner display. Thanks.

Pro 651 Radio Shack scanner

Unable to get rechargeable batteries to charge. Changed software in Global. Using yellow holder. Ni-HM batteries. Using 9v 1 amp charger.

What scanner model do you have? Are you trying to edit directly on the radio or with programming software? What system info are you wanting to remove?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the Radio Shack models, but there should be someone on here to help. Its not the scanner, its Radioreference software. It wont allow me to remove it.

I paid for 180 days of services. I have not received my key code. I have many emails to Radio Ref emails and got no response. I no longer can upload. Any suggestions??

The 651 will not charge batteries, unless you leave it off for a week. There are existing threads on this in the RadioShack section

External charger is what most folks are using

I'm using external chargers. Battery only last 45 minutes after full charge.

What kind of batteries are you using and how old are they? I get around half a day of use on my Pro-106 (predecessor of the Pro-651) with moderate use (no lights) on an old set of batteries with only around 1600 mAh capacity.

When people say external chargers, they are generally talking about a separate battery charger (eg. MH-C9000) and not the AC adapter (wall wart).

Chances are that one or more of those cells are bad. Time for a new set. Mike
