Trunk Systems near me??

I am trying to learn how to program trunk systems. I can't pick up any of the pre-programmed trunks from my house when scanning.

Iwas wondering if anyone knows of a real active trunk system that could be heard from the Toluca-Wenona area on a pretty regular basis. (25 miles south of the I-80/I-39 jct.)

If there is an active one near, I will try to start out with it, to see if I program everything right.

This is where the RRDB is going to help you answer questions like this.

On each county page, if there is a trunked system, it will be listed as: All Trunked Radio Systems in xyz County. There is a caveat to this though.

As you might guess, trunked systems can cover several counties at the same time. So when sleuthing for trunked systems, click on surrounding counties.

Lastly, if you are really familiar with the geography of the area, each main state page of the RRDB has a link to view *all* of the trunked system in that state.

Try the ClearTalk and Cilco systems. On ClearTalk check the Utica, Congerville and Kewanee sites.

You can also try for the Pontiac or Lincol IL-DOC prison sites.
