I have a pro 2050 scanner. I put in all the trunk frequencies for elizabeth city nc and I get nothing. I contacted the police department to find out what frequencis the use and was told it is digital vhf on 800. How should I program my scanner to here the police

It is most likely they meant digital on 800 Mhz and I don't believe that scanner will do digital.

Short answer is that you can't. Your scanner is an analog only one, capable of scanning only Motorola Type I & Type II systems.

Your city and county are on the statewide Viper system, which is Project 25 Phase I (digital, not analog). No amount of programming can make your analog scanner receive a digital system. You'd need a digital trunking scanner to monitor them. You can see some scanners that could follow the system by starting at this page or here.

Outside of a digital capable scanner, your other option would be the two online feeds that encompass your area.
